One might wonder why our CIA and military have been strutting around the globe for over a century and thwarting any attempts of socialism through wars, sanctions and coups. Any country that tries any other means besides capitalism is squashed .. Why is that ? How can an idea be proven false when it is not given room to explore its validity without being decimated at its inception?
It’s Karl Marx’s bday. I’ve been reading his words today and he foretold what we are experiencing in the now…as the reasons Why he believed this system ( capitalism) was a failed one at the get .. We will never learn from our mistakes if we cannot even attempt to admit that we made any .. and that’s where we are .. An empire in decline, not even understanding how we got here because we hold onto our illusion of false superiority .. instead of creating new ideas of how we can operate as a society by confronting our sins and changing our ways.
I do agree .. comfort .. convenience and contentment with what is , has lead us to just go along with the plot . I also believe that we are so set in our ways that we will never get any of this as a whole until we ALL are faced with the discomforts that we perpetuate on to others, here at home.
I was once an idealist .. I gave up on that .. It sucks, but I think we will only find change when we are hit with something like the Great Depression …or a war on our soil ..

I sometimes say .. our moral compass is broken .. I am now questioning if that compass ever existed ..
It's truly strange how easily so many of us rationalize our global military presence + CIA action. But then again, so did I at times when I was in my teens...
Marx really did see so much of it. I didn't realize it was his birthday today!
I think you're right about the discomfort aspect... though I fear some believe that getting hit by it all will almost magically inject some kind of political/social literacy in terms of what the next step should be.
Many people getting wrecked by this country landed on Trump. Without the proper education, there's no guarantee what someone will believe when the shit shows land on there door.

And yeah I don't think the USA has ever had a moral compass beyond the direction pointed by the greed of the elite.
